It's been brought to my attention that the Rowntree Foundation (hey don't they make sweets?) have reported that up to 20% of Goths might vote for the United Scandinavian Melodic Goth Metal People's Front for Democracy and a New World Order as a protest about being excluded from the democratic prcess by the prime perky. So why are they such a threat to the stability of Gothdom? well for a start they believe that Marilyn Manson (or Brian as his mum calls him) is Goth, as is a lot of really dodgy stuff from Northern Europe - cue Nightwish - Mister Squeaky break out the ear defenders and issue an emergency ration of snakebite!
Secondly they believe that shiny stuff is a total aberation and that Industrial/EBM/Darkwave is a corrupting force which threatens the morals of young goths and is diluting the purity of the music.
So we won't be voting for them will we? Mister Squeaky, ever the floating voter is now undecided because they have promised him a free Tristania CD and a signed picture of Tarja Turunen - although he is still quite keen on the perky's offer of a spiky glow in the dark rubber backpack.
