On Design

I'm mildly amused by one of the groups on MySpace relating to all things (allegedly) tattoo as someone has asked a question about what sort of tattoo they should get because they want one but don't know what to have. My gut reaction to this is to suggest some really shit tribal as if you're not sure what you want it's likely that you won't know what's any good or not. Of course I'm not going to bother letting them know this sentiment - anyway someone with less restraint has posted a reply about how they should be really careful and choose something they can live with - "a tattoo is for life not just you next 18-30 holiday blah rhubarb..." - helpful and useful advice, pity they didn't follow it themselves - their pride and joy is a giant Slipknot logo on their back.
So my advice - should you read this - is go to Little Hippy Mate's dodgy Tattoo Shack (apparently open but as I haven't heard anything for months who knows? Who cares?) - she knows all about good tattoo design - and I quote "I don't know what I want but I'll know when I see it" and get a bit of flash badly carved into you by a fifth rate scratcher.
