So there I am yesterday going on about the whole unsatisfactory consumer experience of supermarket shopping and lo and behold in the news today there's an expose of the appalling food hygiene standards in one of the stores close to me. Makes you think doesn't it? If we employed their shifty practices we'd soon be shut down by environmental health, but the big boys seem to be able to get away with it by blaming individual workers for their working practices but ignoring the fact that they set targets for reducing wastage and overheads - and maximising profit - which are then the cause of managers putting pressure on staff to behave in ways which are less than moral.
So the moral of the story is don't buy rotisserie chickens from the big shop down the end of Woodford Avenue just before Charlie Brown's Roundabout, you know the one that has a name that starts with "T"
