What is it with the supermarkets and food producers. Why do they have to use quite so much packaging? And why on earth do they make it so difficult to remove the food? I don not really understand why they have to go so overboard to allegedly protect the consumer - take bananas for example - these come ready packaged in their own biodegradeable cover so why then shrink wrap them so that they are black, mushy and completely inedible by the time that you've finally got them open - and have had to resort to using an angle grinder to get though the ballistic grade plastic to boot.
Then there are the tamperproof things that they use to prevent people from contaminating products and trying to blackmail the supermarkets - mind you they do have the added bonus of preventing the contamination introduced during the manufacturing process (salmonella and nut chocolate anyone?) from getting out and spoiling everything else in your shopping basket. In general these products confuse the elderly and also leave you with the problem of how to remove jam from the ceiling.
This is all part of the prevention of litigation culture which is currently engulfing society. Now the disclaimer. It's not my fault if you get a headache reading this because you're too close to the monitor, don't sue me if this drivel makes your brain hurt. And don't feed the bats (unless like Nemi you have plenty of wine gums)
