Well it's not something that I'm greatly proud of but today I squashed a grey squirrel (with a Landrover not with my bare hands in case you were wondering) and good riddance too! Only a shame that the fuckwits who swerved their car to avoid the twitching corpse didn't euthanase themselves at the same time.
At the same time I would be greatly saddened had it been one of our native red squirrels, lovely little creatures, shy, secretive and they don't go around mugging children for peanuts like their verminous grey american cousins. The trouble is basically down to our victorian ancestors who thought that introducing foreign animals was a good idea - hence we end up with chinese deer roaming the countryside and more recently wild boar and assorted exotic animals (Beast of Bodmin and so on) - mind you there's nothing new about this - apparently there were numerous alarums and diversions up near Sudbury in Tudor times when a crocodile escaped from some noble's menagerie - now that would give you plenty of kudos as a roadkill!
