That the plumber called round at the behest of the neighbours, because they had problems with their water and broke it some more, so in the caring sharing fashion of people who can't repair something and who have less intelligence than they were born with the bugger turned the water off.
All of this of course takes place while I'm at work and get held up on the way home by water main repairs, first thought is a nice cold drink - turn on tap to find it as dry as if it was a well owned by Old Mother Hubbard who was trying to give her dog a drink. Assume this lack of water is due to burst main and call water company, not being aware of the neighbour's part in this fiasco -oh no they only reveal what has happened after we have got the Housing Association's duty plumber out to try to find the leak which is in the cupboard under the stairs - in the words of the Kaiser Chiefs "Every day I love you less and less"
