I spent a considerable amount of time yesterday trying to sort out a problem with the USB on the computer yesterday. Eventually it was solved with the judicious use of a screwdriver and lots of swearing. What was not helpful was the any of the error messages which gave absolutely no indication of what the problem was other than to say that things weren't quite right in the plugging stuff into the pc department.
No, I hasten to add, was the manual for the usb card - this had no practical suggestions for troubleshooting and the self-appointed experts out there in cyberspace were absolutely no help either - I do not need an intensely technical explanation of why there may be one too many potholes on the road to success but rather a means of smoothing out these difficulties.
