Kids on Wheels

There's a story on the BBC London web page that caught my attention, just because of a comment from some bloody fool from RoSPA. The issue in question is that one of the Tube Stations has taken the very sensible and long overdue step of banning children with wheels in the heels of their shoes. The bloke from RoSPA seems to feel that the authorities are being a little bit overcautious and that the children are unlikely to be a safety hazard...
Well mister brainless oaf let me assure you that whilst the children may not be in any danger their antics are very likely to put other people in harm's way. Having been severely inconvenienced not so long ago by one of the wheeled horrors whilst in a builder's merchants and regularly having to avoid being mown down in the aisles of the local supermarket I am in no doubt that not only should the shoes be banned but the children should be birched for a first offence and hung drawn and quartered for a second. And as for their parents and any doting grandparents/uncles aunts etc who may have thought the offending footwear was a suitable gift for a child who feels that they are now able to beat Lewis Hamilton into pole position in supermarket sweep - they should be flayed with a bull's pizzle and then burnt at the stake. Sometimes capital punishment is justified.
