I swore many years ago that I'd never ever go to Camden Market on a Saturday because it would be heaving with the sort of people that I just can't stand i.e. tourists coming to see bohemian London. But I decided to make an exception to go and have a wander around a photographic exhibition. There are two things that I discovered from this - Composition is not everything and celebrity adds value.
The exhibition was a collection of NASA images, of which two were to my mind adequate and one was really special, however this does not justify the hugh price tag. Just because a minor astronaut (i.e. not Neil Armstrong) had signed the picture does not, in my eyes, make it worth two grand, nor for that matter does a rather scrappy frame allow you to increase the value by another hundred quid.
Mind you if crappy photos are now going for two grand what are the seriously good ones that I'm knocking out these days worth, did I hear three grand?
