It's the weekend of the MCMLXXI International Glastonbury Music Festival and Mudbath coming up and I'm wondering what the attraction of it all is. I mean why would anyone pay such a large sum of money to go and sit in a muddy field, recent evacuated of (and evacuated on by) cows with a load of dodgy hippies and trendies.
Now I could understand it if there was some really good music (and it would have to be something very special indeed) and people were going for that, but it seems that they go for the atmosphere - a heady mixture of wood and ganja smoke, vomit, new-age nonsense, overflowing portaprivies and mud. Not my idea of fun. Not by a long way. Me I'd rather stay at home and upset the neighbours with powernoise and slightly dodgy German Industrial grooves.
