Shoeburyness - End of the line

Oh I do so like to be beside the seaside, well the Thames Estuary anyway. Decided after fit of getting up too early and not being able to go back to sleep to go to Southend-on-Mud with cameras. Ended up in the exciting ex-military resort of Shoeburyness. Firing ranges, warning signs and a completely preserved village you can't visit without a special pass and no doubt bomb proof tyres on the car and a big white flag to wave if the missiles get too close.
Very strange place, early in the morning with old men walking dogs, the shreiking of the seagulls, deserted streets and a boarded up pub. and I found it quite eerie, this coming from someone who is quite happy with gothic cemeteries and so on...
