A New Terror
Whether or not you agree with David Davies at least he is to be congratulated for acting on the strength of his convictions and resigning from parliament in protest over detention without trial for alleged terrorist activities. Quite why the extension was required still remains unclear - unless of course that this is an admission by HM Government that using the Police for generating extra income from motorists and setting them quotas has rendered them incapable of being able to investigate serious crimes within a 28 day period - now if you ask me surely someone would have already been investigated by the security services prior to arrest and it should not take long to garner sufficient evidence to bring before a judge and jury to actually prosecute them successfully for treason - which in my view is what they (if convicted) are guilty of. More likely it is to give the human rights lawyers sufficient time to build a case so that they can take the legal aid cash (that we pay for) and enrich themselves whilst permitting undesirable people to remain at liberty with a 'Get out of Jail Free AND collect £10,000' card.
