On My Radio

No post yesterday due to having to go out to celebrate 130 years worth of birthdays with family.

Anyhow as I was lying in bed last night wishing I'd had a little less to eat and wondering why Hypnos was being deliberately evasive I got to thinking about Pirate Radio which was something I used to listen to into the small hours of the morning and how it seemed to disappear (as I knew it anyway) overnight.
For me the daddy of them all was Radio Caroline with the listeners top 100's which you could almost guarantee would have some combination of Stairway to Heaven, Child in Time, Freebird and All Along The Watchtower in the top five, then there was RFM, Radio Amanda and how could I forget Alice's Restaurant. Most of them have now gone but I was heartened to discover I could stream Radio Caroline and the people behind Alice's Restaurant are trying to get a proper broadcasting licence. Encouraging indeed.
