Always nice when you meet a fellow spirit, and today I did. There I was wandering about the City of London Cemetery idly taking some photos of the monuments and pondering the great variation in the quality of the carvings and indeed some of the more suspect engravings such as Rifleman Potts who "died peacefully of a gas attack and exposure in the trenches" in 1917, well I suppose it's better than writing that he struggled to take his last breath through lungs ruined by mustard gas in primitive conditions for some desperate glory.
Anyway back to the plot I bumped into another photographer and we had a nice little chat about the symbolism of the graves and what a pity it was that some of them are going to be removed and just how important it was to keep a record of them. Then we parted - pity I didn't get her phone number...but then that's my problem.
