A school in Lancashire has got all very upset because a teacher has dared to write a book that is not acceptable to the good Christians that run it. More to the point a union representative has been quoted as saying "In writing lurid material as a teacher you would struggle to maintain professionalism and standing amongst the impressionable young people you are charged with teaching." Now how's that for assuming guilt and supporting your membership - I wonder what they'd have made of the primary school teacher who used to live next door to me who had some sexual peccadilloes that the great and the good would have been horrified by.
And I bet these self same moral crusaders were up in arms over that woman who worked for British Airways and who broke their dress code by wearing her cross. Nor, I suspect, would these nutters of god believe that their ancestors were responsible for the often brutal methods used to forcibly convert people to Christianity and the persecution of the old and the mentally ill by such heroes of the church as Matthew Hopkins ( The Self-styled Wytchfinder General)
So now you've got your cassocks in a twist up their are you prepared to lay open your lives to the closest scrutiny - after all doesn't your holy book require that you must be free of any kind of guilt before you have the temerity to accuse others of wrongdoing?
