Spirit of Winterval

In a sense of growing despondence about the wholesale approach to the festive season I decided just out of curiosity to see what exactly it was about the concept of a secular winter festival (aka winterval) that the venerable Bishop of York was getting gas in his gaiters about. Apparently he believes that this is the thin end of the wedge and basically he feels that the spiritual nature of the winter season is being ignored.
Well whose fault is that then Bishop? I think you'll find that there has been so much done in the name of your blood soaked religion that perhaps people have had enough of the hypocrisy and just want a generic celebration...and don't forget what your lot did to supress the Old Religion so perhaps it's time for you to get the effects of the law of threefold return...
