Software Defined
I've been having a tiny bit of trouble with various items of software this week. Strangely enough they are all "intuitive" and "easy to learn" at least as long as you don't want to go outside the box. Take for example Publisher (TM) - I want to design and print my own calendar using my own photos - this should be easy, and it is until I want to change the layout of the calendar by using different thickness lines and background colour - I really shouldn't have to do this for each month - just do it once and the rest should change automatically but oh no don't make it easy. Then of course there is the revamp of the website - long overdue and as I have been allowed to use Dreamweaver (TM) to do it, it should be the proverbial piece of....but again oh no make the interface difficult to use and even more awkward to preview your work. And the prize for difficulty is Natwest Bankline - I can't fathom the level of complexity needed to make a payment, so there's little hope of the boss getting up to speed any time this millennium. I think I'm going to have to send Mister Squeaky off to have a few choice words with Bill Gates et al....just as soon as he's back in country - apparently there's some kind of difficulty in Switzerland at the moment involving the gnomes of Zurich, a cuckoo clock and loads of milk chocolate - I really do not want to know what the blasted creature has done this time.
