Ripperology

It has come to my attention that this evening Channel 5 are going to definitively reveal the identity of Jack the Ripper. Now as I have a bit of an interest in this I've been speculating on who they are going to say it was - now bearing in mind this is television I am sure that this is going to be a ground breaking revelation - no doubt involving the higher echelons of victorian society, the Freemasons, a Russian-Polish-Jewish conspiracy, the Queen's physician and a small grey mongrel dog called Bert. Now I'm having this videoed so I shall be extremely cross with anyone who tells me who it is before I've watched the programme.

I've actually read a few of the books speculating on Jack's identity, ranging from a Royal conspiracy to a poisoned Livepudlian to an associate of Alistair Crowley and the common law husband of Mary Kelly. All of which present a very sound case for the prosecution, at least on the surface. Personally I think they are all wrong and that because the evidence is long since gone modern science will not provide us with the answer either. This is a case that not even the combined efforts of Gil Grissom, Horatio Caine and Mac Taylor can solve
