Here's something for you to try - just type an innocent word into a search engine and see how long it is before it comes up with a link to some kind of bizarre porn site. Now before you get the wrong idea I'm not saying that there's anything necessarily wrong with porn (just the stuff that I find distasteful), but it seems to have fallen off of the internet top shelf into the reach of all and sundry and that surely can't be a good thing.
For a start it means that there is plenty of stuff for the puritans to get upset about apart from people having any kind of fun ever, music and (horror of horrors) dancing, and being able to shop whenever it's convenient - although you must have noticed that most of the supermarkets have gone out of their way to make sunday shopping a less than pleasant experience - so the "Keep Sunday Spartan" brigade must have some kind of influence there.
Secondly this paves the way for censorship and governments controlling the media thus being able to prevent free speech - just look at the example of the Chinese encouraging a certain search engine provider to block content that was less than favourable to their regime.
...And our Govenment has a great record on acting to suppress free speech at the moment doesn't it?
