Packaging

Now I'm sure that many people have complained about complicated and difficult packaging before and will continue to do so. More to the point these days is how on earth it can be justified as a green option. Take for example the sheer amount of plastic used to wrap a set of cartridges for my inkjet printer - each of the six is individually shrink wrapped and then put in a box - which is then sealed into a third plastic container - apparently to make the things tamperproof - why not put them in a strong cardboard box with a seal instead? And employ a proper security system in the shop.
Then of course there's all the unnecessary packaging on food which seems to be more a requierement of the supermarket to make it look nice - mind you if you recall I have previously remarked on the alternative uses food is put to in the supermarket - pizza frizbees for example, so the plastic wrap means that they just need dusting off a bit before putting into the microwave.
Now I don't need much packaging on my food - perhaps just a scarf when it's particularly cold - although getting the bits of wool out of your fangs afterwards is a bit of a trial - and some ornamental lingerie made from shiny materials to enhance the visual pleasure of the kill...Whoops telling you too much of the nosferatu lifestyle again...so why do potatoes need to be individually wrapped and put into a presentation box of the style usually associated with extremely expensive chocolate assortments which should be paid for with really good sex from the grateful recipient? Sex for spuds I don't think - mind you it takes all sorts.
