I'm still bleeding...

Aargh! Look away now - time for a little bit of catharsis. Now the run up to Yule is one of my least favourite times of the year, the other being the time around Paddy's day when some people suddenly decide that they're born-again Irish. (Christopher the performing Cockroach for example) now the thing that really annoys me is that there are all these people who go around telling me that I should be out enjoying some Christmas cheer - oh for fuck's sake grow up. Why should this time of year be any different, where are you with your good will to all men and fake bonhomie when I need someone to talk to eh? Why should I get excited about fifth rate tat being dangled from the lamposts by council employees who would be better employed gritting the pavement outside some of the sheltered accommodation for older people, Why should I be expected to conform to the expectation that I want to consume vast quantities of seasonal food. I don't like plum pudding and roast turkey, what I want is a pleasant meal (cooked with care and thoughtfullness) with people who's company I enjoy (that rather limits the possibilities then doesn't it!) to celebrate the return of the sun. Not some artificial pantomime of gross consumerism which is largely the fault of the coca-cola company (inventers of the modern Santa)

On a lighter note I've just finished producing a number of rather fine photo cards for a rather discerning customer - get the hint people and consume quality artwork instead of tinsel covered glittery garbage.
