Cower now brief mortals for tis the season of Death and rebirth. Afraid you bloody well ought to be for the Morrigan has awoken. And what do we do to celebrate this - dress the kiddies up as ghosties and ghoolies and things that go bump in the night and send them out to demand sweeties with menaces in the style of our colonial cousins.
The trouble with this is of course that it belittles our Pagan heritage. I believe in the power of the Lord and the Lady in her threefold forms - Maiden, Mother and Crone. Magic does exist within us and we have the power to use it for whatever purpose we choose as long as we keep to the rules. What we do in this life will affect us in the next. Yet we allow crass commercialism even worse than that we get for the Christian festivals of Easter and Christmas and don't speak out because our voices have been suppressed for too long.
Time to fight back, time to fight the religious intolerence that still exists - remember the Conservative parliamentary candidate for Leyton and Wanstead who campaigned (and lost) against the right of the Pagan Federation to provide information about Paganism.
As an aside has anybody seen any sparkly bat tinsel about as Mister Squeaky wants to decorate his roost - otherwise I've got one annoyed Giant Rubber Goth Bat in my living room...and I don't want him messing about with the Sabbat cakes and ale.
