What is it about parents that makes them so bloody stupid? I mean they put all that time and effort into creating children, which I presume they wanted at some point, and then they try to have them killed on the way to school. Take today for example, going down busy road in car - pushchair (which I think was occupied) pushed out from between parked cars without bothering to look - practical result irritation and tyre marks on road. Then only a few hundred yards further on parent drags children into middle of road and tries to make a dash for it - nothwithstanding the fact that they were only a few yards from a proper pedestrian crossing with traffic lights and a lollipop man.
And I bet they'd be the first to complain if young Tarquin and his siblings had been squashed flat. Clearly these parents are completely irresponsible - If I had my way I'd have their children confiscated and put into a maximum security school where they would be taught to be sensible and would be free from the pernicious influence of their parents who clearly got their road safety awareness from Flatty the Roadkill hedgehog, mind you judging from the state of the local roads Tufty the squirrel has lost his edge too...
As an aside, is it me or is there a sudden growth in the number of people wandering about towing miniature suitcases behind them on a lead? I've seen loads of them this week and I'm starting to suspect that this is either a new craze or someone has started a very bizarre cult.
