Fuel duty is too high - it always has been and I really object to paying VAT on top - so what do I do? I sign a petition, what do other people do - threaten direct action. Result I need to buy fuel before the tank runs dry, go to petrol station No 1 - no fuel, Petrol station No 2 - queue half a mile long. By the time I would have got to the pump I'd have been having to push the car....Press release from the petrol retailers' association "No sign of panic buying at the pumps" Well I've got news for you mate...Don't tell me you're hard done by and have to pass the increase in fuel prices directly to the motorist when the oil companies make obscene profits every year and when the real cause is 80% taxation from HMG making fuel more and more of a luxury item.
The time for action is near, our govenment are out of touch with the people, they don't listen to the nation's concerns, they are more interested in appearing to be at the forefront of the fight for democracy in other countries without allowing it in the UK.
Write to your MP, ask why things are done in our name without our consent, ask why our tax system punishes the poor and rewards the very wealthy and finally ask yourself why on earth you ever voted them into public office. Above all ask for real democracy now.
