As I promised here is the report on Metal Nation - I've got 16 rolls of film to develop - I'm not looking forward to sorting them all out afterwards.
Bands Review
Via Negativa - competent metal described (by themselves) as an in your face metal/rock/grunge experience that will leave you wanting more. I didn't - good but not my thing.
New Breed - apparently going since they were 12 , young, enthusiastic got all the poses from the Observer's Book of Metal Guitar Hero Poses Volume III, once again competent, hard working but not my thing. Will appeal to G'n'R fans etc.
209 - Band of the Night for Me. Aggressive hard edged Industrial cross-over - Described by me as Skinny Puppy meets Faithless. I enjoyed their set enormously (and I bought the CD) A band to go and see.
FR8 - Jaded completely by this time - Enjoyed their set, but not really in the mood for their brand of metal.
Blitzkrieg - Top of the bill was completely justified. A great set from a great band. Again sadly let down by the lack of a crowd.
Take note Mister Promoter - do a better job - the better the support the better the bands will do - the better your reputation - don't just rely on the "Home of Heavy Metal Iron Maiden started here" trip all the time.
Now the wish list - Please Mister Promoter can we have a goth/industrial/darkwave type of event, with AOD, Moriarti, Abigail's Mercy, Pro-Jekt, Faces of Sarah, Crimson Altar for example.
