Just recently I've started to read medieval crime novels - Brother Cadfael and all that sort of thing, but the one thing I'm not really convinced about with these novels is the dialogue as I just cannot believe that people in the middle ages talked as if they were all extras in The Bill nor for that matter am I really sure that Benedictine Monks were the forerunner to Miss Marple or Hercules Poirot. These minor points aside at least they're something different to read for a change.
Mind you I should never have told Mister Squeaky....he's now tapping away at an ancient typewriter trying to come up with a Transylvanian crime fighting Vampire who carries out summary justice by setting his faithful bat loose on the bad guys...hmmm (*makes mental note to hide turnip brandy*)
