There is a school of thought that the bad grammar and mispellings on those never ending flyers for ethnic take-aways is a deliberate attempt to make people read them, indeed this was a tactic that used to be used by a local greengrocer as passers-by would stop and stare at the labels for appels, stroarberry's and so on and then feel sufficiently embarrased to be caught staring by the proprietor that they would purchase something to make amends.
Me, I have a different theory born out by years of alcohol fuelled research which has proved that the term food can only be loosely applied to things such as the doner kebab and [insert name of any southern American state] fried chicken, and that is that the misdescriptions of the comestibles on offer is actually a Freudian slip on the part of the copy writer and may be closer to reality than people really think. Before you decide just reflect on these tasty offering from the Gants Hill House of Botulism:
Slices of lamb minced, seasoned and cooked on an upright spear
Minced lamb pressed over a skewer with onions
See. I told you so
