Contacted CRB again today, informed that my case was an exception (apart from the other 100 or so enquiries they had each day) so they are clearly meeting the targets set for them by the government.
This is typical of how our government measures success. It's good to know that there are fewer burglaries, and I'm sure that this is because of whatever the strategy for reducing burglaries is, but it's not so reassuring if you've just come home to find that you've been invaded by thieves who have taken your possessions.
Similarly it's a good thing that hospital waiting lists are becoming smaller, unfortunately I suspect that it's because the people on them are dying off - so the reduction is due to what they euphamistically call "natural wastage", oh and restructuring of how they calculate the waiting time.
So it's time for the minority to fight back. We are all too often the silent, uncomplaining mass, believing that we live in a fair and equal society. All too often though, it seems that unless you belong to a "priority group" you become downtrodden and oppressed.
So wake up, we don't live in a fair and just society, our laws protect the wealthy, we have no true democracy, there is no true equality whilst there is positive discrimination instead of advancement based on merit and ability.
