New Year's Message

As the Archbish of Canterbury does this it's only fair as the head of a newly founded and quite spiffingly good religion (give me all your money or the kitten gets it) that I should address the nation.

News reportage is one thing that really annoys me - especially when they are reporting on a personal tragedgy such as the policewoman who was murdered in Bradford - why on earth could you vultures not allow the family the time and space to grieve. Selling newspapers is one thing, but intruding on people's personal lives is quite another. Why not instead campaign for something useful - instead of bleating on about bringing back the death penalty how about campaining for life imprisonment to mean just that. How about campaigning for social justice instead of carping on about five minute wonder micro-celebrities who you have made and just as soon will break.

The other thing which gets me extremely angry is people who refuse to accept responsibility for their actions - don't blame society for your troubles look to yourself. Why are your children uncontrollable? Why have you not taken the time to teach them what's right and what's wrong? Don't use the excuse that you are not permitted to punish them - after all punishment does not mean that you have to slap them. Just take away their toys until they learn to behave.

Don't believe the government, they manipulate statistics and adjust them to fit the message they want you to hear, whilst blaming the opposition for starting it in the first place. Perhaps the new conservative leader will be able to achieve a new form of politics where the issues are what matter instead of the personality, however I think that this is doomed to failure as the other kids at the party aren't going to play nicely - especially Tony and his band of bullies.

In summary then the message is this - Trust No One except your friends, don't believe the promises of the people in power - they have their own self-interest at heart. Be cynical and question everything - and if you get an invitation to the Really Scary Circus don't go there.
