Make Geldof History (Please)

Oh dearie me. Caught myself watching some of live8 today. This was through lack of choice, a variety of pop stars pretending to have a social conscience (whilst those with a social conscience take more direct action) and unfunny pseudo-comedians (Ricky Gervase, What's that all about then?)I'd rather be clubbed with a sack of incontinent hedgehogs.

What I do not understand is the timing of such a hugh Geldof publicity stunt, after all if the intention was to influence official policy then it would have been better to hold the event before the general election. Why has it taken him TWENTY YEARS to realise that third world debt is a global problem? When will he realise that he is just as much of a dinosaur as the world's leaders? When will he go away and not bother us anymore instead of releasing his cynical attempts at getting an honourary peerage on us all?

In the words of the Gathering ...
What fine Judgement I see
In the Eyes of our world leaders
Oh how beautiful life could be
If it hadn't been shot to pieces
