Time for another rant I feel. Having spent the morning in the company of the "Vitally Challenged" - that's the dead to you and me - alright so I was taking photos in the City of London Cemetery what do you expect? I got to thinking about the way in which we talk to the recently bereaved - can't use any death related words we must use euphemisms "the dearly departed" "passed on" "at rest" etc because we mustn't hurt their feelings.
Presumably that's why we can't call a spade a spade now - don't want to hurt the feelings of a digging implement after all. I think it's a return to some of the much espoused victorian values that made Britain great!? That is you indirectly refer to something that might cause offence to others rather than tackle the issue head on -perhaps that's why there's such an increase in teenage pregnancy and drug taking - or there again perhaps its because the population feels so alienated that they are taking their pleasures where and when they can.
On a completely different note would the person who insists on throwing their chavs out please stop - I'm sick of finding them in my dustbin.
